Street TtV
I’ve been doing TtV (Through the Viewfinder) shooting for some time now, every since I built myContraption for my Duaflex I TLR camera. I’ve also been experimenting with TtV Street Photography - I call it TtV Meets Street - and today was a good day. Ended up with about 190 usable images in about 45 minutes.

She’s a winner!
Over at the DPS forums, they set up “weekly” assignments… I try to do them when I remember. The last assignment was From the Hip. So I submitted on of my “Street TtV” shots…
I was pleasantly surprised when I started receiving congratulatory comments on the image above. From the “This Week in DPS” blog post:
We finished the From the Hip assignment this week, and we weren’t at all disappointed with the interesting pictures that people managed to get without actually looking through the viewfinder! Our winner this week was Haeretik for his picture taken through the viewfinder of an old camera. According to him, “Shot this with my XT pointed down through my TtV contraption held by my waist…”.
Many thanks for the selection!

St. Joachim Catholic Cemetery
Visited the St. Joachim Catholic Cemetery in town during lunch… it may sound odd but I really enjoyed this photo walk. I only hit about half the cemetery but I really like the TTV stuff for this.
I know some people think visiting cemeteries for the purpose of a photo shoot is crass and wrong. I don’t. The way I see it, and taking into account some of the tombstones I saw, I’m paying more attention and respect than has been paid since who knows when. I also find it keeps me grounded, makes me think, question my mortality and what I’ve done and where I’m going…

The last shot…
Well tragedy has struck… dropped my camera at lunch, it didn’t like the concrete sidewalk too much. Dunno how much or how long (they estimate 4-6 weeks) it’ll take to fix so I’m camera-less for awhile… looks like it’s gonna be old photo uploads for awhile. Lesson? NEVER EVER use your camera without the strap on! And if you are, crouch or sit on the ground, preferably away from a concrete or otherwise hard surface…
This was the last photo she took… /sigh.
See you in a while.
UPDATE: took a snap of the damage with my cell phone…
